The Eufaula Newcomers Club hosted their Spring Fashion Show on Tuesday, March 14 at the Eufaula Country Club and enjoyed a fabulous success with it.

Models showed off spring clothing to a room full of guests despite the frigid weather that had made a surprise visit to the area, while guests enjoyed a wonderful lunch of broccoli salad, chicken salad wraps, pasta salad and crescent rolls. Chocolate cake and coffee were served for desert.

The fashion show gave business owners from Eufaula’s locally owned stores the chance to highlight some of the unique merchandise that each store carries – items that range from food items, unique jewelry, handbags, clothing and items for the home. Guests received a chance to browse through some of the merchandise from the stores as vendors set up tables in an adjoining room to offer their wares.

Stores that were represented during the fashion show included Blackmon Antiques at the Farm, Iverson Blackmon, owner, and Marian Bargewell, Manager; Ginny Bugs Boutique, Virginia Smith, owner; Just Another Shop, Stephanie Cordell, owner; Magnolia and Lace, Delilah Taylor, Jodee Rovig, Kathy Myles, owners; Red’s Boutique, Kayce Drew, owner and Celeste Clements, Manager; Seventeen Heidi Lane Boutique, Rebecca Balkcolm, owner; Southern Charm, Corey Kirkland, owner; Superior Pecan and Gifts, Jan Shoffit, owner; The Pampered Belle, Valerie Britt, owner; and Uptown Girl, Brenda Mills, owner.

As models strutted their stuff around the dining room at the fashion show, tickets for the show that had been purchased were drawn for chances at door prizes that ranged from jewelry, gift certificates, and home decorating items. Local business, others than those that participated in the fashion show, that donated merchandise for the door prizes include Burkes, Diamond Nails, El Jalisco Restaurant, Eufaula Board of Trade Resale (Deborah Casey), Eufaula Drugs, Eufaula Oil and Lube, Eufaula Thrift Mall (Gloria Rumph), Flower Hut, Goody’s, Happy Tails, International Thrift Store, Artist Jerry Thompson, Lady Bugs and Lace, Marvins, Price Drugs, Satterwhites Furniture, Tara Bennett Catering, Vintage Vendors (June Garry, Sammie McBride, and Vivian Martin) and Whitlock Jewelers. Financial sponsors for the event were BBVA Compass Bank, First Exchange Bank (FEB) and Trustmark Bank.

As hosts for the Spring Fashion Show, members of the Eufaula Newcomers Club did an amazing job with not only the decorations for the event, but with welcoming all who attended. The organization prides their selves on providing a warm welcome to newcomers whether they are new to Eufaula or new to the club. They hold monthly meetings throughout the community in order to introduce those interested to Eufaula people, places and services offered throughout the community.
