A Marianna woman is facing methamphetamine charges following a traffic stop Tuesday night in Washington County, according to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say that, just before 6 p.m. that night an agency deputy initiated a traffic stop near Coy Road and State Road 77.
“As deputies approach the vehicle, they smell the aroma of burned marijuana and perfume coming from the vehicle,” the release states. “Deputies make contact with the driver, 40-year-old, Angela Jane Baxter. Baxter seemed very nervous. Deputies search the vehicle and located inside were rolled marijuana cigarettes, paraphernalia, methamphetamines and a handgun,” it continued.
“Baxter was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of gun in commission of a felony,” the release states.
