A junior varsity gridiron battle last Thursday saw the Sneads Pirates snatch a one-point victory from the Marianna Bulldogs, scoring all their points in the last two minutes of the game to secure the 15-14 home-field win.
The Bulldogs led 14-0 at the half, having scored one touchdown and extra point as the result of an interception that occurred with just under 34 seconds on the first-quarter clock, and notching another in the second period.
Defense was the name of the game in the next: The teams held each other scoreless in the third quarter.
The Pirates pushed through a touchdown and extra point to make it 14-7 as the last two minutes of the game began, but that was not all the Sneads offense had planned.
With just under a minute left on the scoreboard and time running down to a matter of seconds, the Pirates made another touchdown and successfully went for two points on the ground to make the final score 15-14.
