Erika Gray Griswold and Jonathan Allen Bass

Mr. and Mrs. Emmett O’Neal Griswold, Jr. of Samson, Ala. are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Erika Gray Griswold, to Jonathan Allen Bass, son of Mr. Teddy Lamar Bass and Ms. Donna Cowles Bass of Geneva, Ala.

  The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank King of Samson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Emmett O’Neal Griswold, Sr. of Enterprise.

  Erika was Salutatorian of her 2005 Samson High School graduating class. She graduated Cum Laude in 2009 from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Rehabilitation Services, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma social sorority. She graduated Suma Cum Laude in 2011 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy, where she was a member of Pi Theta Epsilon occupational therapy honor society. Erika works as a per diem (PRN) occupational therapist with Elba City Schools, Florala Health and Rehabilitation, as well as Wiregrass Nursing Home and Rehabilitation.

  The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Patricia Cowles and the late Mr. Donald W. Cowles of Geneva and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bass of New Brockton.

  Jon graduated in 2001 from Geneva High School. He graduated Suma Cum Laude in 2011 from Grantham University with an Associate’s of Business Management. He is currently attending Colorado State University perusing his business degree. Jon works in the Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) program for the Alabama Army National Guard and is currently assigned to 161st Medical Battalion in Mobile, Alabama as their Senior Human Resources Sergeant. He is a recent honors graduate of the Reserve Component Warrant Officer Candidate School at Fort McClellan, Ala.

  The wedding will take place on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at the Samson First United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. A reception will immediately follow at the Samson Municipal Complex.

  No local invitations are being sent. All friends and family are invited to attend.

  After a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Daphne, Ala.
