Mrs. Marilyn Martin Herring passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at her residence. She was 73. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Meadowlawn cemetery in Enterprise, AL with Pastor Paul Alexander and Chaplain Brian Simoneaux officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. She was born in Enterprise, AL February 26, 1943 to the late Edwin and Wilma Martin. She graduated from Enterprise High School and earned her degree in cosmetology from Indian River Community College in Ft. Pierce, FL. She was a beautician for over 35 years. Marilyn grew up as a member of the First Baptist Church in Enterprise and later in life attended Faith Independent Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, her sisters: Ann Gunter, Amy Martin, Lynda Stewart, and Bebe Bruce, and former husband and best friend Wayne Herring all preceded her in death. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Tracie Brown, New Brockton, AL; nephew, Robert Stewart, Lancaster, TX; nieces: Dena Bruce Smith, Beverly Bruce Wright, and Amy Bruce Saunders, all of Dothan, AL; her beloved fur baby, Gracie, who was always by her side, as well as her grand fur babies, Piper and Baxter Brown, Adopted family members: Dee Martin, Lynda Buffington, Jody Toothman, Shannon Evans, Sherry McCormick. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Carolyn Burbank and Staff at First Choice Hospice in Elba, the DCI Dialysis Clinic in Enterprise, as well as the Enterprise Rescue Squad.
