Graveside services for Mr. Bari Garlin Chason, age 77, of Georgetown, Ga., were held at 11 a.m. (EDT), Monday, October 16, 2017 at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo, GA. Bro. Davis Roberts officiated with Kent Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Visitation was held at Kent Funeral Home Chapel in Eufaula on October 15, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. (CDT). Mr. Chason died Friday, Oct. 13, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born September 3, 1940 in Thomasville, Ga., Bari was the son of the late J.W. Nelms and Laura Chason and his biological parents were the late Ollin Lee Chason Sr. and Ruth Beckwith Chason. Bari had lived in Georgetown since 1997 coming from Crawfordville, FL. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, flower gardening and eating. He was a great prankster and always wanted to make someone laugh. He loved his family and he loved the Lord. Bari was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Faye Montgomery and Deleta Sellars. A daughter, Stacey Kinch and granddaughter, Laura Storey. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Roberts Chason, Georgetown, GA.; 3 daughters, Kathryn Kinch, Crawfordville, FL., Amanda Chason Gregory (Robert) Crawfordville, FL., and Tina Brooks (Scott), Perdido, Al.; a son Allan Blackburn (Denise), Eufaula, Al.; 7 brothers, Jake (Pat) Chason, SC, Ollin Chason Jr., Jimmy (Rita) Chason, Ronnie (Bobbie) Chason, Ray Chason, Roger (Jennifer) Chason and Kent (Candy) Chason all of Cairo, GA.;2 sisters, Geneva (Jim) Yotas, Clearwater, FL., and Dean (Leon) Cox, Cairo, GA.; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family suggest in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation: 3152 Little Road, Suite 146 Trinity, Florida 34655, or to a charity of one's choice.
