Authorities are searching for the masked individual who shattered the front door of the Speedtrack convenience store on Caverns Road early Thursday morning.
According to a press release, from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was sent to investigate a burglar alarm call at approximately 4:10 a.m. When the officer arrived four minutes later, he found the front door glass shattered and the door standing open, officials said. Video surveillance revealed that the suspect fled when the alarm sounded. Nothing was taken.
The suspect appears to be between 5’8” and 5’11” tall and of medium build, according to the release. The individual was wearing a black hoodie, dark colored jeans, white tennis shoes with black soles, as well as gloves and a hockey mask.
The suspect approached from and left towards the west. No vehicle has been identified as of this time. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 482-9648.
