A Houston County jury returned not guilty verdicts this week on all three charges against a Dothan man accused of sex abuse of a child.

Matthew James Hanson was acquitted on two counts of sodomy and one count of sex abuse of a child less than 12.

Hanson’s defense attorney, Shaun McGhee, said the jury deliberated for about 90 minutes before rendering the not guilty verdicts.

Hanson was arrested Aug. 16, 2017 and held on a $100,000 bond until his acquittal this week.
