Only $5 for 5 months

The 19th annual Dothan Eagle Bridal Extravaganza should be considered a one-stop shopping experience for couples already in the planning stage for their weddings. Even if the “big question” has not been popped, couples eyeing a possible wedding at a future date could also garner valuable information.

The Bridal Extravaganza will be held Sunday, Jan. 29, from 1-4:30 p.m., in the Dothan Civic Center. Fifty area vendors and service providers will be on site to assist couples in planning their special day. Admission is $8 via www.dothanciviccenter.org or $10 at the door.

“I would encourage anyone planning a wedding or even thinking of a wedding in the near future to attend the Bridal Extravaganza,” said Alicia Eubanks, event coordinator. “We’re offering services of all types and venues. This event offers one-stop shopping for the participants. We’re trying to cover everything from A to Z for weddings and to meet the wedding budgets of all sizes. We believe every bride deserves a beautiful wedding.

“I anticipate seeing a lot of brides-to-be taking advantage of all the great products and services that are available to assist them in planning their memorable wedding day.”

That does not mean that the grooms have been left out of the picture. Quite the contrary, Eubanks says.

“We have included vendors who cater to the wedding needs of the groom and the attendants,” she said.

To cap off the afternoon’s activities, the brides-to-be and other members of the wedding party will be treated to a fashion show that starts at 4 p.m. The show will be coordinated by Madison Cox, a long-time fashion coordinator.

“Our fashion show will present all of the latest trends from local bridal boutiques,” Eubanks said. “Those will include Andrews Bridal Shoppe, Little White Dress Shop, Ronnie’s Men’s and Boys’ Wear and Tuxedo 101.”

“Overall, this is a beautiful and informative events that you will not want to miss, if there’s a wedding in your future.”

In addition to the information that will be available, Eubanks says the registered participants will have the opportunity to take home some very special prizes.

“We will have wonderful door prizes provided by all of our vendors,” she continued. “There will also be a drawing for a grand prize, which is provided by AAA Travel. This prize is a four-day, three-night stay at any one of the all-inclusive, beautiful couples’ resorts in Jamaica.”

While the participants visit the various vendors and service providers, local radio personality Misty Morgan will emcee the Bridal Extravaganza. And, live music will also fill the arena.

“Misty will keep everyone informed about events taking place during the Bridal Extravaganza,” Eubanks said. “We will also have a band, Legacy, that will play wedding music throughout the event.”

Eubanks says an effort the size of the Bridal Extravaganza could not be produced without the help of many people working behind the scenes.

“The Bridal Extravaganza is a large undertaking,” she said. “An event of this size would not be possible without the wonderful assistance of a lot of people working diligently to make it happen. In particular, the Dothan Eagle advertising staff and the creative services staff did a wonderful job in promoting the Bridal Extravaganza. They were especially helpful in assisting to acquire the vendors and service providers who will be on hand to help the participants with their wedding plans. And, the vendors and service providers, in addition to supplying valuable information, through their participation they truly make the Bridal Extravaganza a one-stop shopping experience for those who are planning a wedding or for those who are considering a future wedding.”
