Karen Backman (“Voter suppression,” Letters to the Editor, April 11) is absolutely correct. Voting is a right; many Americans gave their lives for that right and many others sacrificed years away from home and also their health to defend this right. Surely we can sacrifice a few hours to register to vote. Each of us who help defend these rights was required to carry a photo ID at all times.
