I’m limiting myself to one James Bond favorite. “Casino Royale” introduced us to a new 007, so it contains lots of Daniel Craig, as well as the signature gun-barrel bit, a sly hint at what’s going on with Eva Green’s character and playful animation that nods to the lethal card game at the movie’s climax — all to the tune of my controversial choice for best Bond theme, the late Chris Cornell’s ferocious “You Know My Name.”

This wildly offbeat medieval stop-animation series, though full of cute, Lego-like characters, is aimed at adults. It follows a kindhearted peasant named Patrick who dreams of being a knight. Unfortunately, the kingdom is a cesspool of depravity. Even the queen has her own sex dungeon. (June 12, Hulu).

In 2017, Matthew A. Cherry created a Kickstarter campaign in hopes of funding an animated short film about a young black father who learns how to do his daughter's hair. Cherry had been thinking about the project, dubbed "Hair Love," for several years but was inspired to make it happen after seeing a flood of Internet videos featuring black fathers gingerly tackling the unruly tresses of their daughters.
