Dothan Wolves game Friday against Cairo canceled

Dothan High's homecoming football game scheduled against Cairo (Ga.) at Rip Hewes Stadium on Friday night has been canceled due to a Cairo player testing positive for COVID-19.

According to a release sent out Friday afternoon by Dothan City Schools, in a collective effort to retain the spirit of homecoming and allow students to continue to celebrate the festivities, Dothan City Schools has elected to extend homecoming festivities into next week as Homecoming 2.0.

Homecoming 2.0 will include new dress-up days, a second homecoming parade as well as an outdoor pep rally. Homecoming 2.0 will conclude with a matchup against Colquitt County on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. at Rip Hewes Stadium. Recognition of the Homecoming Court and the crowning of King and Queen will take place at 6:30 preceding kickoff.
