The City of Enterprise is recognizing the impact of parks and recreation on community health and quality of life after Mayor William E. Cooper, Sr. signed a proclamation declaring July 2026 during a ceremony at the Enterprise Recreation & Aquatics Center.
Surrounded by Enterprise Parks and Recreation staff inside the state-of-the-art Recreation & Aquatics Center on Lee Street, Mayor Cooper signed the proclamation recognizing the department’s ongoing commitment to enhancing quality of life for residents through parks, programs and public spaces.
The proclamation highlights the essential role parks and recreation play in fostering a healthy, vibrant and connected community. Enterprise Parks and Recreation maintains seven parks encompassing more than 250 acres, along with the Enterprise Recreation & Aquatics Center, athletic complexes, playgrounds, walking trails and a broad range of recreational programming that promotes health, wellness and outdoor activity.
Each year, the department serves more than 2,500 youth athletes, hosts more than 25 athletic tournaments and coordinates five major community events that bring residents together, support local businesses and showcase Enterprise as a premier place to live, work and play. These efforts are supported by more than 90 dedicated employees who provide high-quality programming, safe facilities and exceptional customer service.
“Parks and recreation are a cornerstone of community life in Enterprise,” Mayor Cooper said. “Our parks, facilities, and programs strengthen families, support healthy living, and help make Enterprise a place where people are proud to call home.”
The City of Enterprise encourages all residents to celebrate Park and Recreation Month by visiting local parks, participating in recreational programs and enjoying the many amenities available throughout the city.
