Mr. William Hanes Eakin, Jr., 84, of Georgetown, Georgia, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Crowne Health Care in Eufaula, Alabama. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 1 p.m., CDT, at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Dr. Kermit Soileau will officiate with Chapman Funeral Home directing. Born November 22, 1930 in Climax, Georgia, Mr. Eakin was the son of the late William Hanes and Jeannie Musgrove Eakin, Sr. Mr. Eakin was a United States Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the National Guard and the Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his brother Marion Eakin. Survivors include his wife: Judy Eakin of Georgetown, GA; 1 son, Ron (Donna) Eakin of Rutledge, GA; 3 daughters, Diane (Lynn) Mahaley of Eufaula, AL, Pam (David) Frazier of Crawford, AL, and Melissa (John) Myers of Murfreesboro, TN; 4 grandchildren, Brandon Mahaley, Jennifer Frazier, Jonathan Frazier, and Cameron Eakin; 4 great grandchildren, Logan, Michael, Keely and Bentley; 1 brother, John (Ruth) Eakin of Quincy, FL; 4 sisters, Evelyn Atkinson of August, GA, Doris (Ray) Rauton of Ridge Spring, SC, Elaine (Edwin) Sanders of Cario, GA and Lil (Don) Wagner of Connecticut.
