SPANISH FORT, Ala. – Troy cross country went back-to-back with a near-perfect meet at the Azalea City Classic Friday night at Blakeley State Park, as the men won the 5K with 26 points and the women earned the runner-up title in their 5K with 45 points.
The Trojans go back-to-back for the first time in recorded history as the men claimed their first team win at the Azalea City Classic – the women's side won in 2020.
"We are very pleased with replicating our results from last week and having the women finish second overall, and the men get another victory," said head coach Brian Cunningham. "Both teams did a good job of executing the plan, being competitive, and being tough. We still have plenty of work to do, but today was another nice momentum builder for the teams."

After winning the Montevallo Falcon Classic last week, the Trojans remained on top on the men's side and replicated their standings, winning their second meet in a row at the Azalea City Classic. The Trojans had three top-five finishes, with Riley Treadaway leading the pack and earning runner-up honors individually with a time of 15:15.96 and a new personal best. Patterson Graham (15:28.91) also gained a new personal record while placing fourth, and Caden Blackman (15:32.40) followed close behind for fifth.
Rounding out Troy's scoring five were Lane Watson (15:34.35), who earned a new personal record, and Keith Warner (15:52.39), who earned sixth and ninth, respectively.
The women's team also duplicated their overall results from last week, earning silver with 45 points. Winny Kosgei (18:29.08) and Abby Jepkemboi (18:59.22) both earned personal bests and placed in the top 10 for the Trojans, finishing third and eighth, respectively.
The final top-10 scorer for the Trojans was Lucy Turley, who finished 10th with a time of 19:05.31. Pheline Mining (19:26.79) and Haley Wilson (19:28.99) placed 15th and 16th, respectively, and both earned new personal records.
