TROY, Ala. – In the home stretch of the fall season, Troy softball will host Central Alabama Community College at the Troy Softball Complex on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m. in its only game this week.
"This week we welcome Central Alabama Community College to the Troy Softball Complex for a 10-inning scrimmage," said head coach Eric Newell. "Every at-bat we get offensively and every rep we get defensively is a chance for us to continue to grow our skill set and push for excellence."
Central Alabama CC is consistently a contender in the ACCC, with a 21-16 conference record, earning the No. 2 seed. However, this is below Central Alabama's normal standard, as the Trojans went 34-1 in conference play the year before.
While taking on AUM at home on Oct. 15, the bats were loud as six Trojans recorded multiple hits, and the team totaled the most hits of the fall season.
Harrison and Boswell also combined for a double play on a fly out to center field and a runner caught advancing in a rundown. Harrison has shown arm talent in center field multiple times this fall.
As the Trojans traveled to Athens on Oct. 18, the pitching and defense shined, and Abby Lovell, Savannah Money and Cunningham combined in the circle for five innings, allowing only one run and three hits.
