TROY, Ala. – Troy cross country travels to the Montevallo XC Course on Friday night to continue its 2026 campaign at the Montevallo Falcon Classic, which begins at 7:30 p.m.
"We are very excited to continue our season under-the-lights at Montevallo this week," head coach Brian Cunningham said. "A night race is a new format for most of us and should create a fun environment for the meet. This will be the men's first 8K of the year and a good opportunity to take advantage of all the strength work we have been doing since June. The women will have a chance to continue refining their race plans and settling into what is largely a new environment for most of the team. This should be a fun one!"
Troy opened the 2026 season with two top-20 finishers on the men's side, led by Riley Treadaway, who finished 13th with a time of 15:42.10 and earned a personal record in the 5K. Keith Warner followed behind, finishing 20th with a time of 15:55.10. Lane Watson (15:59.20) and Patterson Graham (16:13.30) crossed the finish line next for the Trojans, placing 23rd and 35th, respectively. As a unit, the Trojans finished fifth out of 17 teams.
On the women's side, Abby Jepkemboi led the Trojans in her collegiate debut, placing 35th with a time of 19:38.90 to help boost the Trojans to seventh. Haley Wilson crossed next with a time of 20:09.90 and 51st. Winny Kosgei (20:24.20) and Giulianna Rivero (20:28.30) followed close behind, placing 54th and 57th, respectively.
