The Southeast Health family recently mourned the loss of Denise Simmon. Denise was a beloved team member who always filled a room with positive energy and a desire to help others.
Denise’s daughter Danielle, at the memorial service, summed up her mother very appropriately as “generous.” The Employee Advisory Council, which Denise served on, wholeheartedly agreed with Danielle by establishing the Legacy of Generosity Scholarship.
This scholarship will not only honor Denise’s legacy, but it will also recognize the legacy, either in memoriam or in honor, of others who have made a lasting impact on Southeast Health. The first scholarship will be awarded next spring in memory of Denise.
“Denise would be proud of this scholarship because it includes anyone who makes a lasting impression at Southeast Health,” said Amy Bunting, director of the Southeast Health Foundation. “Awarding the first scholarship in Denise’s memory will be a reminder of her endless generosity.”
An initial investment of $50,000 has been established to launch the scholarship. More details of the scholarship amount, eligibility requirements, application deadline and selection process will be released later.
